Sa mga nagtataka…
October 17th, 2006 by lizhong…kung bakit antagal ko nang ‘di nakapag-friendster oh nakapag-communicate sa inyo… read my story
2 months ago, that was August 13 2006, Sunday, me and my family were at San Roque Parish, Blumentritt Manila, hearing mass. Suddenly at about 4 pm we heard the loud "wangwangs" of the firetruck passing by. The mass was a little distracted by the loud noises, the people were looking outside and i suddenly palpitate without exact cause… i thought i was just afraid because for sure there’s a "fire" nearby. We remained inside and finished the mass. Afterwards we went down the parking lot and said our prayers to the "libing". As the usual, knock 3 times by the glass to start your prayer… then to our surprize a concerned neighbor and tricycle driver informed us that indeed there’s a fire and that it was our house. Now i know why my heart was thumping and why i suddenly palpitate like having an attack. I don’t know if you’re going to believe me but i was like that, having signs that i can’t explain, when something wrong is going on.
Well, what else can i say? Our house was indeed burned. When we got there the "event" was finished and the firemen were gone. What was left was our "tinustang bahay" and its wet and wild look. Tragic isn’t it? Idon’t know how to describe what i felt that time… but indeed i was sad… very very sad… that was where we live for more than 20 years… my family and my relatives used to spend happy days together… helping each other when one is in need… laughing, singing, dancing together during special occassions… watching PBA together and cherishing every championship and victory from San Miguel Beermen… that house… knows our story… the stories of each and everyone of us…
Not that our lives will stop with that event… but still it will be difficult to go back to what we used to. That was indeed tragic. Until now i still feel the "chill" whenever i remember that incident. Of course the "effect" will still be carried by each and everyone of us… but we have to move on.
Thanks to God Almighty, none died. Even Bambam, our dog was saved. And thank God… for we can continue our lives. Thank God that our other relatives and kind hearted friends helped us along the way. Thank God i’m still able to share "moments" with my family now. God is great… God is good… God is the best.
As for me… special thanks to Noreen and the Panganiban family for helping me out and allowing me to live at their house for free for almost a week. Special thanks to my bestfriend Aiza who came to me immediately after her OJT at Makati when she heard what happened and accompannied me to the Panganiban residence. Thanks to Marius who offered his house to me and my family. Thanks to Antonette, Claire, Ammeline, my groupmates sa duty, and my classmates at Chinese Gen, the anonymousartists, friends from ESPS for all the support, concern and prayers. Thanks to my sister’s friends who donated clothes and job opportunities to some of my relatives. Thanks thanks thanks to all the people who prayed, supported, and helped us.
Praise God.
Thanks.
Love you all.
